edstudios created a website introduction film for HydroOne.com using motion graphics. This project was commissioned by Cossette for Hydro One to promote their new website and branding. The motion graphics were created using After Effects, Element3d, 3dsMax, and Davinci Resolve.
The video begins with the motion graphic text, “Welcome to the new HydroOne.com” imposed over video footage of Hydro One services in action. The screen then splits to reveal HydroOne.com in desktop view, mobile view and on a laptop. The mobile phone motion graphic shows the Rates & Billing page, while text appears next to the mobile phone that spins and shows the new content described. “We’ve made it easier to use and added new features like: Paperless Billing, so you can receive your bill conveniently by email.” The video pans up the mobile phone to show an example online account summary. The mobile phone then splits into three and HydroOne.com is show on a tablet, mobile phone and a laptop. The text “Access your account 24/7 from any device” is written underneath. The screen swipes with a laptop featuring HydroOne.com. The text, “Get usage alerts when your usage is trending higher than normal” appears. A motion graphic of a target dissolves the text and disapears to reveal the text “and outage alerts when there’s a storm.” A motion graphic of a mobile phone featuring this alert appears over video footage of hydro workers repairing after a storm. “New and improved tools to help you mange and reduce costs”. Over footage of Hydroi One’s corporate office where employees are outside is written the text, “Thank you to our 5000 Hydro One Online Community members and employees that helped us shape the website”. The screen swipes and text appears, “Register today for access to all of these new features and more.” The video ends with the HydroOne.com logo and the call to action, “Visit HydroOne.com”.
