One dump truck full of plastic waste enters our ocean every minute. That’s 8 million tons of plastic every year impacting marine wildlife and people.
The Ocean Cleanup projects to be able to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040. Using floating systems designed to capture plastics ranging from small pieces, just millimetres in size, up to large debris, including massive, discarded fishing nets (ghost nets), which can be tens of meters wide.

From the proceeds of just one pair of sunglasses - they remove 24 football fields of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. If they sell every pair, that supports cleaning half a million football fields worth of ocean. 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these sunglasses will go directly to continued cleanup operations.
